About Me
I have been teaching piano for over 10 years. I am an educator at heart, and while I have journeyed through many different educational contexts, my love of piano teaching has remained.
After getting my master's degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education, I worked as a fifth grade general education teacher at an expeditionary school in Denver. This experience broadened my expertise in the science of learning and helped me focus my passion for working with students 1:1.
I take a holistic approach to piano instruction, using my expertise in student-centered learning, constructivism, and social-emotional education.

Teaching Philosophy and Methods
I begin by assessing the skills and goals of each student. Then I create individualized curriculum by supplementing lesson books with additional materials.
I work with students and families to set up a consistent practice routine that works for you.
My expertise is in classical piano. In addition to basic keyboard skills, I teach listening, theory, musicality, and ear training. I also often integrate movement into our lessons.
I create performance opportunities that are both formal and informal to foster confidence.
I enjoy working with students with a variety of learning differences.
